Finn - Dog photography in Bromsgrove

Finn’s owner, Karen, keeps her horses at the same stables as mine. She had wanted to get some lovely portraits of her rescue dog Finn whilst the Bluebells of Spring were still blooming.

So we arranged to meet in late May on Beacon Hill in the Lickey Hills Country Park, Worcestershire, near Bromsgrove.

About Finn’s Dog Photography Session

Finn was rescued from Romania, and Karen and her family hadn't had him for very long. So as a precaution and for Finn's security, he was kept on his collar & leash for the whole session. Though you will see this didn't stop us from creating all the beautiful portraits that I would usually capture (most of the dogs I photograph are kept on leashes).

We spent an hour and a half leisurely wandering from one location to the next within the woodland section. At each site, I let Finn settle into a pose he was comfortable staying in, with minimal guidance from Karen and me. As a rescue, we were careful not to overload him with too many instructions, as that would have made what should be a fun experience for him stressful.

Here are a few of his portraits:

After the session, I returned, with the images, to the office to whittle them down to the final gallery, which were presented to Karen in her Reveal Session.

Karen was overjoyed by the photos we captured, and after a lengthy discussion, we were able to finalise her decision on which image should be printed and framed. It now hangs pride of place in her home.
