Ash - Dog Photography in Worcestershire

In March, the highlighted breed was the Collie!

The Collie is a beautiful and intelligent dog known for its loyalty and grace. Originating from Scotland, Collies are often recognized for their striking coat and expressive eyes. This breed is not only stunning in appearance but also excels in various roles such as herding, search and rescue, and therapy work.

Collies are affectionate and gentle companions, making them wonderful family pets. Their keen sense of loyalty and strong work ethic truly set them apart, making them a beloved breed among dog enthusiasts worldwide.

The winner was Ash, a beautiful Collie x Kelpie!

About Ash’s Dog Photography Session

I met Abbie, the owner of Ash, and her mother at the main car park of Lickey Hills Country Park just a couple of hours before sunset to make the most of the natural light. We spent the following two hours exploring a small area of the woodland, pausing now and then to capture some beautiful portraits of Ash.

With winter coming to a close, there were some amusing moments when I unintentionally led us through the muddiest parts of the path while off-roading, but Ash, being a tidy dog, elegantly avoided getting her paws dirty. Ash was a delightful subject, with a background in agility and obedience classes, making her a joy to work with. Her ability to perform the flat down pose, seen in many of the portraits, added a fun element to her poses and images.

It was a pleasure capturing her charming personality – sweet, clever, agile, and every movement she made resembled that of a graceful, nimble fox.

Lickey Hills Coutnry Park is a fantastic spot for a dog photoshoot in Worcestershire, my favourite for winter sessions. Within a small area, you can explore various habitats providing a diverse selection of images to select from, including heather, woodland and dirt tracks

Here are a few of Ash’s portraits:

After the session, I returned with the images to the office to select the final ones for the gallery. These were later showcased to Abbie; after a little help from her family we narrowed her selection to her five favourites, which she took home as full resolution digital files.
